Last Saturday our conversation teacher's husband and daughter took Amy and I on a day trip to see two of the holy cities here. The River Ganges flows through these cities and people come to offer sacrifices in the temples and wash in the river in hopes of gaining immortality. No words or pictures can capture the depths of lostness you feel there. It was a very vivid reminder of the darkness in which these people live every day.
One of the temples and the people crossing the bridge to get to it. We were told it would probably take us an hour to get across and back.

Please lift up the people of South Asia. Ask the Father to open their eyes and hearts to know him the One True God and His Son. Ask that would forsake their idols and turn from darkness to light.
As we drove past the Ganges, this river they think will offer them immortality, I kept thinking of Ps. 46.
There is a river who streams make glad the city of our God...
The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. ~ Rev 22.17
