Beth and Sarah take on Delhi!
Objective: Find furniture for 2 houses in 1 day
Location: Amar Colony – Imagine an entire block that could have been used for filming Samford and Son
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
After 3 cRaZy, looong, FUN, and stressful days Sarah and I found furniture (beds, dining tables, bookshelves, etc) and other needed items for both our houses and got it all on a truck to BP. We have decided we could probably win the Amazing Race if we wanted to!
Day 1: Leave BP at 0 dark thirty and head to airport. This is after spending the first night in our new places on only mattresses. Arrive in Delhi around 9:00 or so. Eat a super yummy western breakfast (I mean we have our priorities). Arrive at the furniture “store” around 11 and begin the hunt.
5 hours and many laps through the maze of furniture later, we had 2 dining tables, 12 chairs, 6 beds, 5 bookshelves, 7 end tables, 1 wardrobe…and a partridge in a pear tree.
7:00 pm Eat dinner and find out we do NOT have a truck to get our stuff back to BP! Yikes!!! Let's just say I was a little stressed.
Day 2: Head out to the mall, craft show, and anywhere else we can think of. Oh yeah, and find a truck for all our furniture!
Don't worry we also made time to stop at the Hard Rock and enjoy a burger.
Here is some of the music we enjoyed at the craft fair...
Day 3: 12:30 Meet the truck, get it loaded and head to the mall to hang out before catching our flight at 6:00 pm.
12:30 Arrive at Almar Colony. Excited to see all our stuff almost ready to load. Truck is coming in 10 minutes.
1:00 No truck - Maybe in an hour.
2:00 So maybe the truck can't make it today
3:00 Trying to find a new truck
4:30 Truck arrives. We leave and hope all gets loaded. Praying we make it to the airport in time...
We made our flight but only barely...but that is a story for another day.
Believe it or not the drama DOESN'T end here. We waited all day yesterday for the truck but, due to regulations, it could not enter our city before 10:00 pm. The driver had a little difficulty locating our houses. Our furniture finally arrived at the Marlin's house at 1:00 am last night! Jason had to find ANOTHER truck to bring my stuff to my place today. Thankfully it is all here and I have a chair to sit on and a bed to sleep in! And....for the first time in almost 11 months I do not have any suitcases or boxes anywhere in sight!
So glad to be home
