When I arrived back home to my city 2 weeks ago it was HOT
and I didn’t have any AC’s yet. I spent the first day cleaning all the dust off
my furniture and sweating a lot! I finally decided to go to the mall for a
while so I could enjoy the AC and cool off a bit. I wandered into one shop and
started talking to the girl working there. Three of her friends were in the
back hanging out on their lunch breaks. They were laughing and having a great
time! She introduced me to them all and I found out 3 of them are cousins. I
had a sweet time chatting with them for a bit and was so thankful to the Father
for bringing me to cousin girls my first day back! We exchanged numbers in
hopes to meet up again.
Last week I was at the mall again to hang out with my
conversation helper Polly*. After we finished up I went back to the store in
hopes to visit with the girl again. Thankfully two of the girls were there and
we visited for a while. They are such sweet girls! I have a lot to learn about
friendship, generosity, and hospitality from this culture. The girls took me to
the food court and bought ME lunch to share with them! The hardly know me, I am
foreigner to their country, they are working for very little and yet they show
so much generosity and hospitality! Wow! I was humbled for sure. We talked for
a while and they both shared with me about their families. Both girls are
working to support their families. One of their fathers passed away and the
other abandoned their family. They both have siblings and are the only income
for their family. I shared a little of
my story (how sweet of the Father to bring me to two girls with stories so
similar to my own). I am hoping to go to
a family function at one of their homes next week. I hope the Father will allow me more
opportunities to build a friendship with these girls and introduce them to
their true Abba.
